“C24” to transition fully to APM beginning July 1

by Guest User

Colleagues,

I’m writing to you on behalf of PRX and APM regarding the nationally-syndicated public media classical music service “Classical 24.” The service will transition to being operated, broadcast, and solely distributed by APM effective July 1, 2022.

It’s important to us that we share this news with you first, but please note it’s under embargo until the joint PRX and APM press release is issued at 2pm ET.

As PRX transfers distribution rights to APM after more than 25 years of partnership, we’ll be working together closely to ensure your needs are met during this transition. We’ll also ensure a seamless experience for listeners. See here for a supporting FAQ document from us, and please reach out with any questions.

“Classical 24” launched in 1995 with the belief that music is for everybody. As a result of the successful partnership between APM and PRX over several decades, “C24” is now heard on more than 230 public radio stations. We believe stations and listeners will be well-served by the consolidation of production and distribution under one roof. We look forward to continued growth.

“C24” displays an important role in the public media system, delivering music, companionship, comfort, and insight. For your collaboration with us at PRX and APM, we thank you.

Sincerely,

Sean Nesbitt
Senior Director of Industry Partnerships at PRX
