Produced by WGTE Public Media with the University of Michigan, this series includes thirteen 59:00 self-contained episodes, each focused on a particular composer or group of composers.
Composers featured include Florence Price, Margaret Bonds, Julia Perry, and William Grant Still. Dr. Toppin also covers topics from Third Stream to the National Association of Negro Musicians.
