Ascending: Baltimore School for the Arts
Series produced by [redacted] [redacted]
A behind the scenes glimpse at what goes on at one of the premiere arts public high schools in the nation.
Each month we hear from students at Baltimore School for the Arts as they work to become tomorrow's top dancers, artists, actors and musicians. Alumni include Project Runway Winner Christian Siriano and actress Jada Pinkett Smith. We hear the students dance across the wood studio floor, sing, mold sculptures, practice their lines. We listen to their voices as they reflect on their lives at this unusual school. The teens practice Bach and do calculus, they perform Shakespeare and worry about what to wear to school. They are extraordinary teens and they are ordinary teens and in this show we explore the intersection of the two.
