When I was young, someone gave me this bit of advice: When you’re looking for that woman that you want to call your bride this rule of thumb generally applies that they will look like their mom later on in their lives. Well that’s certainly true with me. I see my dad in my mirror. And the things that used to bother him are now becoming clearer. Like politicians and horrible television and vapid popular culture. That kind of fun stuff.

Today it’s the return of a segment that we have not had in OVER A YEAR! It’s called the CASSETTE CUBBYHOLE where I’ll be playing back a MATTHEWS INTERVIEW with the very popular COUNTRY singer CRAIG MORGAN when he first debuted. Plus we hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster!

So this past weekend there was Comic Con for all the nerds to take their contacts out and put their glasses on. Let’s face it, half the movies will be in theaters for a week and then gone. I’ve been disappointed so much I see no reason for me to long to be in San Diego for this over-hyped event. Lots of TV shows get panels where many tedious hours are spent hearing writers talk about character arcs that are just another way of saying, “How can we fill up 24 one-hour episodes with meaningless pap?” You know behind the scenes at Comic Con it’s debauchery with cos players and lower level sci fi bit actors. And meanwhile San Diego laughs all the way to the bank.

Today it’s the return of the much-loved feature INTO AN INTERVIEW where we’ll hear from JOE MARKERT of the wonderful BERKELEY band CURE FOR GRAVITY who will be celebrating my 902nd "effizode" and playing me their new song for the first time. Yes, it will be the first time it’s heard ANYWHERE on the Internet or the UNIVERSE for that matter! Plus we hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer!

Out of the kindness of my heart and my love for radio I hosted for six months a morning show for absolutely free which is ridiculous I know. This past weekend they had to let me go. I guess I had to be a prima donna and put my foot down and say, Hey, this seems to me to be kinda a lot of work that I’m doing for ABSOLUTELY FREE! There’s another Internet radio station I do a show for but they make it EXCEEDINGLY EASY to do. In a perfect world, DJ’s would ALWAYS BE PAID no matter if it was for an Internet radio station or for an upstart. But somewhere along the line things went from bad to worse for radio people. So if you run a station and have DJ’s do shows for you for free do me a favor and treat your DJ’s with a TON of respect since you’re not giving them coin. You know you’re already USING people with what you do. You gotta make up for your impending crappy Karma some how.
