Review of In the Gym, Trying to Fit In

This short story is well edited. Though it's short it is also rather pointless. The female reporter describes an outcaste of high school sitting and staring. It does nothing to describe what happens after that however. And so there for I am not quite sure what to think.

Review of Elections for Dummies

This story is about how the Presidential elections work and about the Electoral College. Though he explains it very succinctly, I am distracted by the guy in the background screaming (not very well either) the presidential anthem. This story I only give a 2 out of five because of that reason and that he didn't explain the Electoral College longer.

Review of To Hug or Not to Hug?

This is of a guy who is explaining the man hug and why it isn't right between friend and that guys just need to buck up and hug correctly, not in those exact words though. He explains that real friends don't hug like that, that real men hug correctly. The story was, though weird, pretty well written and I would listen to another like it.

Review of N.K. Hurst Bean Media Montage (deleted)

This story is about a financial group that decides to make parking spaces over an old building. This piece was a little hard to follow but got the point across. It also used an interesting style of editing wherein the entire thing was a vox pop of people speaking over other people. This style is often used at the beginning of news openings for only a few second but here it was used for 1 minute and 34 seconds.

Review of East Coast Culture Shock

THIS SHORT YET INFORMITIVE STORY IS ABOUT how going from a multi cultural high school to a very "monochromatic" college. The story, though it could be expanded upon, was pretty good. The only area that needed a lot of work was editing. She could definitely use some music and sound effects, but that is the only part I could see needed work. So good job.

Review of College-Bound

This story is of a black student deciding if he wants to go to an Ivy League school or a racially oriented school. Most people would choose Cornell University over Xavier (an HBCU which stands for Historicly Black College or University) any day. But this reporter wanted to go to the one that many black leaders (such as Oprah). Though the piece sounded a lot more like a vox pop than a story he expressed his feelings very clearly. Over all I give this story a four out of five.

Review of Gamers Good; Jack Thompson Bad

This is a story on Jack Thompson and how he decided to give $10,000 to any game maker that would make a game about how a gamer who kills a young kid. that kids father decides that the only way to make up for it is killing others. this story is pretty good though it does not have great sound editing (sound effects and music). this reporter is however very good at gavering evidence and puting it all together.overall it is a 4 out of 5.

Review of Roberto: We Don't Live in Huts

This was an interesting story about americas perception of Jamaca and how wrong it is. Roberto is saying that he came up and a lot of people asked him "stupid Questions" about Jamaca and him having to explain a million times about how not everybodys poor and how thew don't all live in huts. This was very good and informational telliing of the things that we have and they don't, such as snow.

Review of Dear Mom: I Joined the Marines

This short story was more of a letter from a son to a mom and was very inspiring. In his note he expresses that though his mother disagrees but the life that he has chosen is the life he wants, this is the only life for him and that is to serve his country. I have nothing bad that I can say about his story. And the last words I have to say are Semper Fi, and oorah.

Gods grace and speed to you and your marine brethren.

Review of Jackie Onassis

This is a great example of how different two peoples stories can be; it has a husband and wife being interviewed about an exact story that should be the same but since Tamar says that the husband isn't their. This is a hilarious story; the reporter does a great job of editing the story together and interviewing the people. There is really no way to make this story much better.

Review of Music in Retail Settings

This piece was very good; it talked about music in the retail setting and how it effects how someone shops. This was cool because I had never thought of music in that setting. Though the story was a little choppy on the technical side I can’t think of a reason not to listen to the story.

Review of Video Gaming

Video Gaming is a commentary about video games and why they are good, bad or otherwise. This isn’t about the video games themselves and if they are good or bad but if they are good or bad on your body and mind. This reporter brought up the point that they can have both effects, pointing out that surgeons use them to warm up before surgery, and also on the body, from the obvious effects of playing dance, dance revolution. Over all this reporter had an awesome story and I would love to listen to more of his stories.

Review of Teen Perspectives on God

This story, Teen views on god, was very interesting. It was about different people from different religions and faiths speaking on the issue of what god is and what he/she/they do/does. The reporter says throughout the entire story that she now and will be always questioning her faith and what it means to her. The story had very good background noise consisting of different hymns and she even gets an interviewee sing a song. The only beef I had was at the very beginning the transitions where a little to short, but other than that it was a great and very deep audio piece. I would recommend it to anyone.

Review of Energy: Buzz on Oil (deleted)

Though short, this vox pop was informative and original. It had seemingly regular people speaking of the oil crisis and what they thought of it. Some of this reporter’s information was however mistaken, such as the fact that we could have a solar powered car/ one that runs on a battery, also is the fact that cars are the main reason that there is global warming. Also the reporter never actually comes out and states their stand on the issue, though it is quite clear from the subjects that they interviewed. It is important that they come out and state this because some one could miss interpret what the reporter is trying to say. This story does however have very good intro, outro and the transitions were quite skillful.
