I love the way this piece shows both the placid surface of the day, and the dangerous currents that flow beneath it. I was left wanting to know much, much more!
An evocative reminder how how easily peak experiences in our lives become buried so deeply in the minutiae of day-to-day experience that we can barely remember having had them.
I loved the way the author provided just the right ingredients so that my imagination could whip up a feast for itself. I'm still savoring it. Great work!

All the Right Moves
I'm certain Mr. Barbour not only got the job, but has since been named employee of the year. What a deliciously funny piece!

Outstanding!
This is an absolute jewel, vidid and evocative. It's amazing how clearly the characters are drawn in so few well-chosen words.
