Review of "Cancer" by Dianna Harris, Shanava Monson, Jon Ortiz, and Jose Olivarez (deleted)
This is the best slam piece I have ever heard. These Chicago kids are amazing and I think the rest of the slam community could relearn their poetic roots by listening to this. Slam is going the way of hip hop, commercialized and turned into rhyming obscenities, but this is the original style of slam, in its purest, most emotional form.
