This is a fascinating piece for the connoisseur, the neophyte, and everyone in between.
The music is enjoyable, the commentary revelatory, relaxed, and informative. The feel is a bit like being listening in on two friends just swapping appreciative comments and pertinent anecdotes while listening to music they both love. It's never esoteric nor exclusive, just great fun listening while you actually learn something.

The Riverwalk Jazz Tribute is a really superior treat, setting just the right tone for its purpose. That is to say that it reminds us of the beauty and joy of traditional New Orleans jazz, and the fact that it is a living art form. Interspersing vocal pieces enhances the poignancy of hearing this music right now, knowing as we do that so many people with that inimitable accent, so specific to its home place, are unwillingly dispersed across the whole country right now.
