The Ecology Hour is an hour-long program on KZYX- Northern California. Hosted by Dr. Robert Spies, a marine biologist, and Tim Bray, a geologist, the show explores the science of ecology, especially related to our location in Mendocino County. We interview scientists on the front lines of ecological research, who describe some of the amazing things being discovered about this planet and our place in it.

Talking About California focuses on issues of major political, social and cultural importance to California. In September 2017, Cal Winslow hosted a special series co-hosted by Loreto Rojas, marking Hispanic Heritage Month. Together, Cal and Loreto will focus on the crisis of the Trump presidency and its attacks on millions of workers and their families. The program will explore the origins of this crisis, its immediate and projected long-term impacts, the widespread opposition to Trump, as well as alternate visions and solutions.
