A new radio program and podcast chasing what it means to be an Oklahoman. Produced by Trevor Hultner

Oklahoma is often thought of as the quintessential flyover Bible Belt state: A saucepan shaped piece of stolen Native land filled with religious neoconservatives, trailer parks and unrestrained bigotry. This preconception is reinforced during elections, where counties tend to trend to the right, and during legislative sessions where reproductive and gay rights are often on the cusp of elimination.

But we also have the Statue of Baphomet that's about to be built on the State Capitol lawn.

Oklahoma is a land of extremes where ultimately, everything balances out. It defies stereotypes. It's far more interesting than you've been led to believe.

And I'm going to prove it.
