Tales from the South: Fall 2010 Season
Series produced by Paula Morell
True stories told by the everyday Southerners who lived them, told weekly in front of a live audience at Starving Artist Cafe' in the Argenta Arts District of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Once a month features a well-known Southerner telling his/her own true story.
Tales from the South is southern-style storytelling in an intimate setting: a funky artist's cafe' in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Our writers are from all walks of life and tell their true stories in front of a live audience. Though the show itself is raw and unrehearsed, the stories have been worked on for weeks leading up to the readings. Shows are centered around themes, and we include original live blues music. On the air for 5 years, Tales from the South is a program of William F. Laman Public Library, with additional support provided by the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute and the Argenta Arts Foundation.
