In a three–part series we will examine the death penalty in Washington.

There have been four executions since Washington State reinstated the death penalty in 1981. On December 24, 2008, convicted murderer Darold Stenson's execution was temporarily stayed by two court orders. In a three–part series we will examine the death penalty in Washington. In parts one and two we will hear how capital cases affect victims' family members and impact the legal system. In part three, we will examine the process of an execution and discuss the ethics and particulars around the event.
