Learn how scientists are using social to monitor endangered monk seals and the people who see them in the wild.

Img_3547_small Hawaiian monk seals are a critically endangered species living only in the Hawaiian Islands. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration tracks and monitors the population. In addition to physical tags and skin marks they're now using social media to learn where particular seals are spotted. It also helps them monitor human interaction.
