Two wheels, a ski pole with attached pipe and six steely grins. 3-2-1 Polo! Once in a lifetime happens three nights a week at the University of Montana's parking garage. Far more than just a fad, bike polo is a positive social and physical outlet. It's a community. It's fun. VoxPop produced at the University of Montana School of Journalism under Jule Banville.

Curling is good in Stanley, Idaho

From Sergio Anthony Gonzalez | 05:06

The Sawtooth Outdoor Bonspiel holds renown for being the only outdoor bonspiel in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The ice is bad, the company is good and the scenery is unmatched.

Sob2_small It's the dead of winter in a high mountain town in the middle of nowhere and there are a hundred or so bundled curlers from a lot of places that aren’t Stanley, Idaho. The ice is uneven, there’s a huddle around the fire, a huddle around the kegs and opposing crowds at each end of the ice. Behind one crowd are these majestic towering mountains, the Sawtooths, and behind the other, tiny Stanley. There are just enough permanent residents to run the two bars and general store. The whole town is out, along with curlers from as far away as Wisconsin and Arizona. They don't do it to compete, but to just be together.
