"The Golden Age of Radio marked the beginning of a new generation: people could experience history as it happened instead of waiting for the next day’s paper. One of the reasons that World War Two casts such large shadow is because it was the first time that Americans were able to gather around the set and bring the war into their own homes. Bob Jackson probably knows this better than anyone. He’s a World War Two veteran who fixes antique radios for a local museum. Chris Haddlesey visited him at his home near Traverse City, Michigan."
