World Ocean Radio is a project of the World Ocean Observatory. It is produced in two formats: a 5-minute weekly essay and 30-minute interviews on a wide variety of ocean topics with researchers and activists around the world.

The World Ocean Observatory is an online exchange for information and educational services about the ocean defined as "an integrated global social system," thereby relating the ocean to fresh water, food, energy, public health, trade, transportation, international finance, tourism, governance, culture, recreation, and community development worldwide. W2O includes resources of the Cultural and Physical Ocean; a Directory of 18,500 ocean organizations; a quarterly newsletter on ocean issues; a daily international news digest; online exhibits; and listings for educational resources for students, teachers, home schoolers, and general inquiry.
