Rob MacClanahan hosts THE TIME TRAVELER

Every Monday night The Time Traveler airs history, literature, filmbytes, news, science and other goings ons -- even speculations about the future -- for politically incorrect families and their kids (even though it's way past their bedtime).

The show does not steer clear of the taboo subjects: Politics and religion.

Sometimes the show is slanted, sometimes its not. Sometimes local stories get the coverage, other shows look at national or global issues. American holidays and their celebration histories make it onto The Time Traveler near just about every anniversary, you just never know what you're going to hear unless fair warning is given on Rob MacClanahan's facebook page. And you can catch it Monday nights from 9pm to midnight California time, right here on kfok.org, where you get music breaks instead of commercials.

The Book of Judith

From Rob MacClanahan | Part of the The Time Traveler series | 02:31:22

The spirit of Judith cries out to us even if the names of her enemies are masked, even if exiled to the Apocrypha, even though she was -- but a woman...

Judith_small The entrance  of Judith and the conclusion of her story is presented in this piece, accompanied by cinematic clips of soundtrack from the 1954 movie, "The Egyptian" and "The Time Machine" (1960), and a theme song Rob MacClanahan has reverently appointed for Judith from Maria Muldaur in 1974, "Midnight at the Oasis".  The show includes a reading of the adventure of Judith and historical facts concerning Judea and their dealings with aggression by foreign rulers.  The introduction to this show was broadcast in a previous TTT episode entitled "Attila the Hun", constituting it's third hour.
