About Me
I'm a journalist and will follow a good story wherever it leads. In doing so, I have covered most sciences, as well as health, policy, education, and business.
With two dozen other writers/editors/producers, I co-authored a book called the "Science Writers' Handbook." I contributed the chapter on multimedia freelancing.
I've worked at two magazines -- American Scientist and Science -- and on staff at one radio station -- St. Louis Public Radio. At Science magazine, I was the host and sole producer of the weekly Science magazine podcast (2007-2011), which topped the iTunes podcast charts in the Science & Medicine category during my tenure at #3, behind only WNYC's Radiolab and NPR's Science Friday.
My memberships include the National Association of Science Writers and National Press Club. Please visit my website -- http://robertfrederick.co -- to learn about the workshops I conduct, consulting I do, and other activities, including reporting for national and international magazines.
