About Me

Lynda-Marie Taurasi is a radio and print journalist living in Carrboro, North Carolina. She is a correspondent for the News & Observer in Raleigh and its sister publications, The Chapel Hill News and The Durham News. Previously, she was the news director for a community radio station in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and a writer for MTV Radio Networks in New York City. Her work for WCHL won a Regional Edward R. Murrow award for "Best Use of Sound" in 2010. She has contributed to Free Speech Radio News, a national and international radio news program, CBS Radio News, and has provided commentary for MSNBC.

She is finishing a Certificate in Documentary Arts at The Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University and serves on the board for public access television stations in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham. Among her many areas of community involvement, she most enjoys teaching English as a Second Language.
