Review of Youth Voting

It’s incredible how Zoe gives so many interesting facts in her piece in such a short amount of time. Her piece is very important not only because she is speaking about an event that can really affect the way things are in our lives but also because she is informing a group of people who aren’t as well informed like, us teenagers. Her piece flows along perfectly it focuses on the main issue of voting and how it can extremely affect our country. Zoe’s piece is very informative and well produced; she covers many important points which hook the audience to keep on wanting to listen to the piece. It would have been awesome if she would have added music. But overall this piece was great, it gave me many different points to think about.

Review of "What's the deal with Adults and Coffee?"

It’s incredible how as children we wonder many things. Ten year old Sylvia brings out a very important question in her audio story, because as children we wonder why our parents or relatives like coffee so much. Her overall interview is incredible she makes a’ lot of good points throughout her audio story. The overall tone of the audio is good, her voice sounds perfect. Sylvia does an awesome job on interviewing different people and incorporating all of them throughout the story. It would have been interesting if she would have added music, just to add a little enhancement. But overall I really enjoyed listening to this story.

Review for "The love I felt for you"

This piece is incredibly awesome. The beginning is great because it hooked me in right away. It is very interesting how she created an audio story without actually just speaking about the relationship rather it being a poem. The poem had a very awesome rhythm to it, and the music enhanced the piece even more because it made it flow along perfectly. What I found incredibly interesting about this piece is the way she shaped the story over all; her tone goes perfectly along. It all flows just right. What I most enjoyed about this story was the poem and how it had figurative language throughout it and made everything visual to the audience.

This audio story is very interesting not only because it shares the stories of young mothers but also because it’s not exactly an interview but just young mothers talking about their experiences as a mother. I really enjoyed the music that was incorporated throughout the piece because it makes the audio piece more exciting. The overall piece was great; the way it was structured and put together was awesome. Especially because both girls had the opportunity to speak about their own experiences and give their opinions. It would have made the audio story even more interesting if the parents of the young girls would have been part of the audio story. But overall it was a great piece.

Review of "Here I Am, Saying Thanks To My Mom"

This piece is not only really touching but it is also very visual. The audience can really picture everything that David speaks about he does a great job on describing things so well and with such detail. The way he started off his story was brief and straight to the point, the beginning is what gets the audience into the story and wanting to know more of what David has to say. The music he chose to include in his piece is great it goes well along with the tone and mood of the piece. The only thing that I think he should have done differently would be, maybe adding his mother on the piece like interviewing her and speaking to her about how thankful he really is for her giving him life.

After hearing this piece I was completely touched. This piece really touched me, it was just really well produced and Shantaye did such an amazing work on putting it all together. The way the story began was what hooks the audience on to wanting to hear more, because it doesn’t start off with right away telling the story from beginning to end rather starting it off with her mother speaking. The pacing was great, Shantaye’s voice is very soft it flows along great. Throughout the story, I actually felt like as if I was there I could perfectly visualize everything that Shantaye described and spoke about. The length of this piece was also amazing, it wasn’t too long or too short it was perfect and she was able to tell her story in detail. Shantaye’s narration affects the piece overall by giving it a feeling to it. By making the audience to want to know more and more and kind of visualize and try to put themselves in her shoes. Overall I think this piece was more than amazing, I learned a lesson myself. I am not always thankful that I have both of my parents by my side, and I take them for granted. But after hearing this piece I realize that not everyone is fortunate to always have their parents by their side.

Do you think chivalry is dead? Well thanks to Natalie, after hearing this piece the audience has learned that maybe chivalry is still not quite dead. This piece is really well polished, I really love the way Natalie decided to put the piece together, and we hear a combination of opinions. Not only of women but as well as of the own men themselves. The addition of music was perfect; especially the little tune she chose it went great with the whole chivalry theme. What I most admired of this piece was the way it was organized and put together. It would have not been the same if Natalie would have organized it differently. The pacing is perfect; she doesn’t just throw all the different interviews at the same time they actually flow along perfectly. There is really nothing that I would say that needed to be changed; overall I think Natalie did a great job with this piece. Especially on carrying the message throughout the piece.

Do you ever wonder what other people did when they were young to feel older? Well this piece is just the right one to hear, not only because it’s very humorous but also because in a way as listening to it I went back in time and thought about what I did when I was younger. I really love how this piece was put together, how there were different voices, each giving a different story of what they did when they were younger to feel older. The music really helped this piece and carries the humorous mood. I really liked how the song was there since the beginning. The only thing that I wish that should have been done was extending the story, and added a reflection at the end. But overall this piece really got to me and I really enjoyed hearing it.

As I began to hear this piece, and Luis began to tell the story I began to visually see everything in my head. The way he started off the piece was very interesting he didn’t just start off by saying him just telling the story rather chose to include the short interview about his father and his reasons for leaving the United States. I like how he chose to do a voiceover it enhanced the piece by letting the public hear his father speak. The mood of the piece can be described as sentimental in a way but courageous and determined, because although Luis doesn’t sound extremely sad his tone of voice sounds determined for a better future. I found it very interesting how he decided to also share the story of Sara Castillo because it’s similar to what Luis’ story focuses on, the farewell from the United States to their native country. The music really enhanced this piece, not only because it added culture to the piece but also because of the meaning of the song and what the lyrics say.

Review - Believeing in Santa Claus

I wonder if people ever wonder why we believe or once used to believe in Santa Claus. Do you happen to believe in Santa Claus? Asha’s piece will completely startle your mind and make you think, “Do you believe in Santa Claus?” This piece is very unique in the way she chose to set it up. She didn’t just focus on one age group to interview rather went beyond the age groups and chose to speak to people of different ages. It brought a smile when hearing the youngest age group it reminded me of when I used to believe in Mr. Claus. I really enjoyed hearing this piece not only because it had humor in it, but as well because it took me back in time and I remembered some good memories. Asha’s voice is rich in tone, she has a unique style. Everything she talks about and the interviews I can perfectly visualize the face of the children when they were speaking to her. I wish she would of added music, at least just at the beginning to get the audience more hooked in the piece. But overall I think she did a magnificent job putting the piece together.

Review for Banking Translated

We never really come to think about the struggles that people who do not speak English face. Most people always think “Oh well they must be fine their kid knows how to speak English.” I myself, have been through a couple experiences like Mayra, and I think it’s incredible how she thought of creating a piece talking about a subject that is never really noticed. Her piece is unique in the way she set it up. First she discusses about her personal experience, then she has another person speak about their personal experience which makes it easy for the audience to understand the topic. Mayra’s tone is incisive, the length of the piece is great she talks about a’ lot of important points in a couple of minutes. She starts off right away with an important key point, everything flows just perfectly fine. Overall the piece is very interesting not only because she speaks about a subject that is never really spoken about or really heard about but also because of the way she set it up.

Review for "Church Girl" (deleted)

“Church Girl” by Lydia Muñoz is a mouth dropping piece that deserves to be praised not only because she had the courage to speak about such a heart breaking event that she went through, but also because she does such an amazing work by really captivating emotions in the piece. Lydia does such an incredible job with the way she composed this piece it all flows along just perfectly. Her tone throughout the piece is rich and captivating to the audience. The use of figurative language incredibly enhances the cruel reality that Lydia speaks about. For example the use of metaphors, similes, and imagery that she incorporates in her piece completely make the story unique, and essentially makes you want to keep on hearing. The way she structured the piece was great. Although it would have been interesting if she might of added a song. But overall her piece is astonishing, the truth she speaks out in her story not only captivated me personally, but I also tried to put myself in her shoes and imagine the pain she suffered mentally after such a powerful event that will honestly always be there to remember.

" What If" Review

Have you ever happened to wonder if there are other people in this world that wish they knew the answers to the questions that puzzle everybody? If you thought you were the only one who had so many questions about our world and our everyday life and why things are the way they are, you’re not. Ellie Evans’ piece, “What If” is incredibly astonishing not only because it‘s a piece that really gets the audience to sit back and go along with Evans’ rich tone and wonder about the rhetorical questions being asked by Ellie but also because of the mood. The mood of this piece could be described as mysterious in a way in which Ellie guides the listener through a dark tunnel and then leads to the light. The way she created this piece is very interesting, it is like a puzzle with different pieces being connected together. The beginning is very captivating, the music she chose to include in the piece really enhances the overall audio. As I was hearing the piece the song at the beginning really set me off to just relax and concentrate on what was coming. The pacing flows along just perfectly. Each time she stops it gives the listener the chance to visually imagine what she is talking about.
