I'm currently the News Director at Birmingham, Alabama's pubradio station, but I've been hunting down good public radio stories ever since my freshman year at the University of Florida.
Prior to coming to Birmingham, I worked in news at WUFT-FM (Gainesville, FL), WCBS-AM (NYC), and Colorado Public Radio (Denver, CO), and spent three years as an independent producer working for the national news programs, particularly the Marketplace Morning Report.
Along the way I've picked up some bookshelf trinkets including dozens of AP awards, regional Edward R. Murrows, and an American Legion Auxilliary Heart of America award.
In my spare time I mentor for the Association of Independents in Radio and work as a trainer for the Public Radio News Directors Incs NewsWorks program.
My husband and I have three young daughters so there's not alot of free time, but when we do manage to carve some out, we enjoy hiking, attending wrestling tournaments (real wrestling not the stuff on TV), and church activities.
