Kelly McEvers is an independent producer and freelance writer based in New York City. She has produced radio stories from around the U.S., Canada, Southeast Asia, the Caucasus, the former Soviet Union, and the Middle East. Her radio work has aired on All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Day to Day, Marketplace, The World, This American Life, On the Media, The Savvy Traveler, and the BBC. Her writing has appeared in Esquire, The New Republic, The New York Times Magazine, and Slate. She is the founding editor of www.SixBillion.org, an online magazine of narrative journalism featuring sound, video, photography, comics, text, and interactive media.
