I'm WNPR's News Director, and the host of Where We Live. You can listen to some shows here. http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/wnpr/news.newsmain?action=section&SECTION_ID=760
Where We Live is a daily news/talk show. We take Connecticut issues and put them in a broader context...and take global issues and make them relevant where we live. We also use short pieces from PRX as conversation-starters. Aaron Henkin interviewed me about this here: http://www.prx.org/articles/817
A good example of the kind of work we've used? How about Connecticut writer Ken Cormier's excellent "The Lumberyard." http://www.prx.org/user/gravitron1/
Essential Radio is our documentary slot...it's been moved to occasional weeknights at 7 p.m. I choose most of the pieces from PRX.
Periodically, you'll hear me reporting for NPR, like this story from Day to Day's series on Bridgeport, CT: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5788251
Here's a PRX story on Jazz Trumpeter Dave Douglas: http://www.prx.org/pieces/6755
While you're on PRX, check out these docs I edited:
"The Wild Child: Coping with a Bipolar Youth," by Karen Brown: http://www.prx.org/pieces/2710
"The Traveling Radio Show Goes to NYC" by Jeff Jacoby: http://www.prx.org/pieces/3078
"All Available Boats" by David Tarnow: http://www.prx.org/pieces/2196
And, this Hearing Voices special I hosted...it's about the circus: http://www.prx.org/pieces/11649
(PS - The "Lion Tamer" piece freaked some people out. Decide for yourself.)
