Catherine Stifter is a 2-time Peabody award-winning independent editor and producer for community media projects around the US.

Current projects include "Saving The Sierra", a regional media project exploring grassroots solutions for sustaining rural communities, funded by the California Council for Humanities; and "New Routes to Community Health", a national program to improve the lives of US immigrants through media, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She's also writing the next Bioneers radio series.

She was managing editor of "Crossing East," produced by Dmae Roberts and "The DNA Files I and II" from SoundVision Productions.

People listen to the radio to hear good stories. We may want to encourage them to take action for themselves or their communities. We may have funding to teach them something new about health care, the environment or the economy. But, you've gotta have a great story to tell.
