I'm a San Francisco-based freelance writer and broadcaster whose columns, articles and commentaries have been used by more than 200 Print, broadcast and online outlets ranging from the New York Times Magazine and Christian Science Monitor to the weekly San Francisco Bay Guardian.

My broadcast experience includes guest appearances on several local radio and TV stations over the past four decades, public affairs commentaries on Pacifica Radio in Berkeley and Los Angeles, KQED-FM in San Francisco and other public radio stations and full-time reporting for KQED-TV's pioneering "Newsroom." I have worked as well as a wire service and newspaper reporter and editor.

My specialty is two to three-minute commentaries on labor, politics, international affairs, the media, sports, historical events, foreign and domestic travel and other matters.
