Red River Radio Network
The Red River Radio Network is a community-supported service of LSU-Shreveport and is the non-commercial source for NPR News, classics, and more, for East Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and parts of Mississippi. It is the mission of KDAQ, KLSA, KBSA, and KLDN to extend to the citizens of the broadcast area the broad purposes of the University by offering quality programming which is entertaining, informative, and edifying. Specifically, this Public Radio Network should: # Enhance the quality of life in the coverage area by extending the same sense of intellectual and cultural activities as that of higher education. # Inform the people of the areas served of the significant issues facing society. # Contribute to the development of the people of the communities served by conveying the rich and diverse cultural heritage of our society and, by presenting it and making it known to the present generation, also preserving it for generations to come. # Entertain the audience by presenting the noteworthy in music and the arts in an accessible and appealing way, recognizing that it is the station's obligation to satisfy the audience rather than the licensee or the broadcasting staff. # Enrich the lives of its listeners and provide opportunity for personal growth by presenting materials which will encourage new insights concerning life's experiences and the relationship among individuals, society, and our cultural environment. # Reflect credit upon the University by earning the respect of our peers in public broadcasting and of the general public by maintaining the highest standards in every facet of our activity.
