Warning: This is not your Grandma's or Grandpa's R&B hit parade :) Also, please note that The Soul Show is under agreement with WZUM (PA, WV, OH) and WIUP (PA) to air exclusively in their respective broadcast regions. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks! ---------------------------- Request for support Hi there. As you can see, I list The Soul Show as a free purchase on PRX. Truth is, I believe it’s worth more to you. Based on the standard PRX rates, the next choice is 88 dollars, which I know a lot of small stations can’t afford, and which larger stations won’t pay until I have a long, syndicated track record. More truth: The Soul Show, aside from the donated labors of love, does carry real monthly costs: Adobe subscription, Google Drive subscription, Mixcloud fees, to name some. As we always say during public radio campaigns, the beauty is that listeners can set the value and give what’s feasible. As an independent producer these days, the message is the same. 88.00 might be too much per episode, but how about 30.00, 20.00, 10.00 or 5.00? Air, and enjoy, The Soul Show! Music from that time when rhythm and blues and rock and roll were emerging but hadn't yet become a predictable formula. A time when musicians were listening to and incorporating these exciting emergences into their own style of music. We focus on music that is difficult to categorize. C&W that sounds like rockabilly and rockabilly that sounds like R&B which sounds an awful lot like rock. That's the sweet spot for the music on the show and, sure enough, that's where the New Orleans sound is centered.
