NOTE: ALL EPISODES CAN STAND ALONE; NO OBLIGATION TO RUN THE ENTIRE SERIES. This five-episode series of one-hour programs features 17 of the men and women who have served as United States Poet Laureates over the past four decades, from the late Howard Nemerov (1963-64) to Donald Hall (beginning 2006). It's a milestone season for one of the longest-running chamber-music series on public radio: Chamber Music from the Spoleto Festival USA returns with new host Lisa Simeone in a series of 13 one-hour concerts that mark the final season of Spoleto's venerable and one-of-a-kind Chamber Music Artistic Director Charles Wadsworth. The series features great guest artists, including violinist Chee-Yun, cellist Alisa Weilerstein, and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet joining such Spoleto mainstays as the St. Lawrence String Quartet, flutist Tara Helen O'Connor and clarinetist Todd Palmer in a season of concerts that is a true collection of "greatest hits" of Charles Wadsworth's Spoleto years. Wadsworth and his successor, St. Lawrence first violinist Geoff Nuttall, introduce each work with their typically humorous, engaging, and unique stage commentary. Also available with excerptable modules and a robust support website www.spoletochambermusic.org. Co-Produced by South Carolina ETV & Radio + WDAV Classical Public Radio.
