Description:

Poetry Off the Shelf is a production of The Poetry Foundation. It features audio of contemporary poems read by poets and by actors, along with suggested intros and outros. The poems range from :30 to 2:30.

Many of the poems are read and introduced by the poets themselves; others are interpreted by actors. Alfred Molina, Paul Giamatti and other actors give intimate, subtle
readings. Some are funnny, some are sad, some are complex, but all of them deliver a poetic punch. This series would work well as a daily feature starting in April (National Poetry Month) and beyond. New poems will be added every day through March and April, 2007.

The suggested intros/outros should be adapted by stations for their own purposes, but the poet, the reader and PoetryFoundation.org must be credited. No excerpting of poems allowed.
