A sound-rich, experimental comedy program from WBEZ-FM Chicago Public Radio

Chicago's critically-acclaimed comedy ensemble, Schadenfreude, brings its irreverent social and political satire to the airwaves. The group is named after the German word meaning “pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others.”

In each episode, the Schadenfreude cast of characters offers insight, reflection, and comic commentary while highlighting the minutiae of the world around us. The program weaves jokes, narrative story lines, and top-notch audio production into a 30-minute journey. Whether it's politics, popular culture, or social mores, Schadenfreude has something to say. It's up to you to listen.

The show currently airs every Saturday afternoon on Chicago Public Radio. It debuted in 2003. No new production is scheduled.
