A podcast hosted by the founder and managing partner Romy Gingras, of Gingras Global, a social enterprise standards development and assessment firm located in Detroit. Gingras Global's goal is to greatly reduce the number of small businesses, that have a social mission, from failing, by encouraging sustainable business practices.

The podcast is named The Bonfires of Social Enterprise because it's a metaphor for the spirit of one business creating opportunities for others who have needs. These needs can vary from being a safe social environment; jobs; repurposing blighted buildings; transportation; or growing fresh vegetables and other food in areas that grocery chains of left behind.
Romy Gingras is the host of this podcast. She's the managing partner of Gingras Global and Gingras Global Groups which developed business standards for social enterprises and provides assessments of social enterprises to impact investors and organizations that share a common goal of corporate social responsibility.
Romy and her colleagues believe that social enterprises can fill the vacuum left behind by major manufacturing corporations, and can provide the atmosphere to restore communities and neighborhoods hit hard by recent economic downturns, not only in Michigan, but across the US and Canada, and numerous cities around the globe.
Romy Gingras has leadership roles in social enterprise associations in Michigan and in the United States. She interviews, and tells the stories of not only the social enterprises themselves, but of the investors and the attorneys who work with them in the field. "The Bonfires Podcast," is currently being heard, and downloaded in over 40 countries via iTunes and TuneIn. www.bonfiresofsocialenterprise.com.
The podcast is produced and distributed by Flatlands Avenue Productions, LLC. www.flatlandsavellc.com.
