Music history - restoration project
Series produced by Northern Community Radio - KAXE & KBXE, Minnesota
The restoration and celebration of an extensive collection of rare vinyl recordings that showcase life and music in northern Minnesota.
Over the past 39 years the station accumlated an extensive music library of vinyl records that have been in storage since 2005. The collection includes popular and rare recordings (polka bands from the Iron Range, folk & jazz releases, and music from Minnesota musician). This project is to restore and celebrate that historic collection and return it to service and re-introduce the proper use of vinyl records to staff and volunteers. A community celebration of vinyl records will coincide with National Record Store Day on April 18th.
