Telling stories to stay alive.

The 1001 Nights Podcast is a literary fiction podcast where modern authors re-write and adapt the tales of the Arabian Nights in order. The stories are read by Scheherazade each episode within the frame of her pending execution.

These stories have been told and retold for hundreds of years and trace their roots back to ancient medieval Persian, Indian, Egyptian, and Mesopotamian folklore. While some stories such as Aladdin and the tales of Sinbad are widely known, many other wondrous myths have yet to find life in our society.

The stories are famously told by Scheherazade to enrapture the Sultan in an effort to forestall her execution and save her people. Each episode will leave off at a key moment as per Scheherazade’s life-prolonging tales.
