Public Radio's weekly Jazz, Blues, and Comedy Jam, recorded live from 12th Street in Kansas City, where Basie tickled the ivories and Big Joe Turner shouted the blues. Each week we celebrate the birthday of a jazz or blues great with sketch comedy, improv and great live music. "An urban/jazz PHC."

Live from Kansas City, where Basie tickled the ivories and Dizzy met the Bird, this one hour weekly program celebrates the artists who made Jazz and Blues the quintessential American art form. A talented cast of actors and musicians keep the music alive in a rapid-fire program of topical sketch comedy, jazz and the blues. 52 weekly one hour programs plus "Best of" shows.
