The Road to Unist'ot'en
Series produced by Liz McArthur
The Road to Unist'ot'en covers the journey from Victoria, Canada to the pipeline blockade in northern British Columbia where grassroots organizers from the Unist'ot'en First Nation have built a permanent encampment on a proposed oil and gas pipeline corridor.
The Unist'ot'en Pipeline Blockade is near Houston, British Columbia. It's about 1,200 kilometres North of Vancouver. In July 2014, Liz McArthur boarded the Social Coast Action Bus -- a converted school bus used for social justice and environmental projects and drove with a group of activists to the blockade for the annual Action Camp. The camp brings together activists of all stripes for a week of workshops, shared meals, networking and volunteering.
