The Terry Project
Series produced by CiTR's Terry Project
The Terry Project is a documentary radio series that explores how big ideas affect real people. Each week, UBC students Sam Fenn and Gordon Katic set out to solve a genuine mystery by speaking to academic experts and sleuthing around Vancouver. Results vary.
On the upcoming season, Sam and Gordon investigate how an expensive Japanese-French fusion restaurant ended up on Vancouver’s poorest block, why a group of Canadian psychiatrists quit the committee to work out who is and isn’t mentally ill, and why a growing number of experts believe they can solve crimes with algorithms—before they even take place.
The Terry Project is produced for CiTR 101.9FM at the University of British Columbia by Sam, Gordon and a team of student volunteers. It is podcasted every Wednesday on iTunes and aired on CiTR 101.9FM. The show receives mentorship from UBC professors David Ng, Joanne Fox, and Allen Sens as well as CBC Radio producer Kathryn Gretsinger. In addition to the 30-minute documentaries, the Terry Project will broadcast 6 live episodes from UBC’s Gallery Lounge in 2013-14.
