The New Arab Debates

A monthly series of debates asking difficult questions about the unfolding political, cultural and religious revolutions taking place throughout the Arab region.

Revolutionary movements have shown they can overthrow dictators, but can they build democratic societies? "The New Arab Debates with Tim Sebastian" puts a spotlight on the Arab revolutions – inviting a new generation of Arab thinkers to get involved in the active dialog that is reshaping the region politically, culturally and religiously. The hour-long program, recorded live in locations throughout the region, poses a controversial question for each program and through an electronic vote held at the beginning and end of the program, demonstrates how serious discussion can change minds.
