Mishoo miinwaa Noki ~ You, Me and Wrinkles

The audio drama series, “Miishoo Miinwaa Noki ~ You, Me and Wrinkles” (Wrinkles for short) is tailored for Aboriginal communities. It was developed and recorded with residents of Wikwemikong First Nation in Ontario. Wrinkles is a five part radio show that explores the issues of elder abuse through storytelling and discussion. The show touches people, educates audiences on elder abuse, and empowers people to make changes in their communities and their lives.
Here are some of the stories in the new dramatic series, Mishoo miinwaa Noki ~ You, Me and Wrinkles. Every series is told by, for and about Native people.
• A con-man bilks a widow out of thousands of dollars for home repairs.
• Neglected children of drunken parents become the responsibility of a grandmother with financial troubles.
• Mistakes from a cycle of abuse haunt a grandfather when his grandchildren injure and rob him.
• A woman abuses her sick husband.
• A teenager recalls how some boys broke into an elder’s home
