This Dad Day quartet comes with strings attached:
Four pieces can be untied and used singly. Or any combination including the whole "series."
It is diverse in content, style, time, and format.
Several recurring themes run through the series - hopefully.
DAD DAYS ARE EVERGREENS- Any day the nature of the piece fits the news of the day or the tune of the times.

t

1} Why Our father: Poetry emotion asks a profound question
answered as if to a child by a dad with a different vision.
Strains of soul and oldies music are mixed in. The straight (no actuality) narrative combines two poems for the ear.

2)Surge in Baghadads: Voices from the inner city lead into
song from soldier sent back to Iraq. The lyrics, over instrumental bed of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish," evoke the horror and homesickness of a father who fears he may not live to see the birth of his first child. The title, and content suggest he might come home gift wrapped in a body bag. Abrupt experimental sounds punctuate soldier's song.

3) Too Early For Late Father: Long-form narrative with occasional music is a personal memoir of an enigmatic father whose guidance is "dissed" until 35 years after his death. It packs a slow motion punchline -solving one mystery while others linger. Some Yiddish music is occasionaly mixed in and out.Ends with music fade in and voiceover OutQ.
4)Goddaddyo: Godfathers day is 24/7 for this very imperfect father of an equally troubled son. Begins with police bust of apartments in Chicago south side public housing.
Hip Hop style narration over James Brown's "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag." Two voices inside one head echo desparate
internal dialoug.
Ends earily with unnatural sounds.
