A bracingly current and clever weekly "audio sitcom" that satirizes the 2008 Political Season through the lens of a small-town mayor's quixotic bid for re-election.

MAN OF THE PEOPLE: The Only-Recently Discovered Secret Political Recordings of Acting Mayor Francis "Woody" Woodson is a new, eleven-part, weekly audio sitcom/political satire comprised of the "found" tapes of a small-town mayor, furtively audiotaping his every political move (for future biographers, of course).

Great storytelling, incredibly funny characters/situations wrapped up in clean, professional production quality, this bracingly current, series has generated thousands of fans so far, who have discovered the series at http://www.woody4mayor.com.

Described as "The Office" meets "The Nixon Tapes," this episodic internet comedy posted its first episode on August 26, 2008 -- new 12-to-15 minute episodes will be released every Tuesday through Election Day. This newfangle serial radio drama pokes fun at the 2008 Election Season, through the lens of small-town mayor Woody Woodson, as he drags the tiny fictional hamlet of Daltonville into and out of a series of political minefields along his quixotic quest for re-election (and, of course, his place in history).

MAN OF THE PEOPLE is created by award-winning theatre and comedy writer Jeremy Desmon. The series stars a ridiculously talented group of Broadway talent, written by a motley crew of New York-based TV/film/theatre writers and recorded and mixed (with digital sound effects) by Audio Producer/Engineer Brent Lord.

Each 12-to-15 minute episode is written just a few short weeks before it airs, so listeners shouldn't be surprised to hear echoes of the predictably unpredictable goings-on of the 2008 national election (Sarah Palin or Reverend Wright, anyone?)... Hide full description
