Prime Time Radio is a one-hour weekly interview program that focuses on the issues of concern to Americans 40 and above and their families

PRIME TIME RADIO is recognized as the only program on public radio that focuses on the issues and concerns of Americans over 40 and their families. Hosted by veteran public radio talk show host Mike Cuthbert and produced by AARP, PRIME TIME RADIO is heard across the nation on over 40 public radio stations, and over 30 commercial stations.

The one-hour weekly program is taped in a state-of-the-art studio in Washington and covers a rich variety of topics, from health and fitness, politics and culture, to history and music, and hobbies and communities. In an informed yet relaxed atmosphere, we get the best in the business to talk about their fields. We talk with people who can really bring new insights to old issues, fresh takes on common problems, and new ideas based on old wisdom to spark us. From celebrities and authors to scientists and politicians, and with quickness, diligence, wit and humor, we confront the challenges facing all of us as we age.

As an interviewer, Mike Cuthbert is the best in the business. With years of experience in both public and commercial radio, Mike is a skilled questioner and acute listener whose thorough preparation always surprises and delights his guests. Mike has refined and developed his gift - the ability to talk to just about anybody about anything, and, more importantly, to get them to talk to us. If the guest is an author, he always reads the whole book before the interview - and it shows. He?s comfortable and adept at interviewing celebrities, politicians, academics and authorities, and he?s even made the occasional bureaucrat sound interesting.
