From the Bolivian jungle to the tip of Chile, from the sugarcane fields of the Dominican Republic to the Andean highlands of Colombia, and finally to the frozen landscape of Antarctica, a team of documentary producers examines the profound changes to land and culture across the hemisphere.

Homelands Productions' first documentary series, produced for National Public Radio in 1991 and 1992, Vanishing Homelands consisted of 19 stories chronicling the loss of land and culture among indigenous people and others across Latin America and the Caribbean.
