The Mikie Show #52, Glenn (again)

From Michael Carroll | Part of the The Mikie Show series | 28:02

We’re very excited to have a return visit from our dear friend Glenn Berger PhD. Yes, he’s back for another discussion about us, our minds, how we find our way through life’s ups and downs. Turns out the downs can be remedied with just a little help from, well, ourselves. It seems there’s a vibe to the universe (yes, that universe) that’s out there just waiting for us to get vibrating with. Don’t worry, he explains it better than I can.
And there’s more, packaged in a handy variety pack! Like news and a quiz and another guest you may know of but he prefers I keep his name secret for now. And Mikie visits a bar! How unusual, that’s only the third time this week!
So why not click the little play arrow and rocket off to the galaxies of your mind where all the drinks are free!

Flatlined: How Illinois Shortchanges Rural Students

From Todd Melby | 26:37

This documentary shows how students in small town schools suffer because of the way Illinois funds its public schools.

Zachandbryant_small Winner of a 2007 Sigma Delta Chi award for best radio documentary, "Flatlined" explores the inequities of American school funding. In the small town of La Harpe, Illinois, high school students don't have access to classes most suburban kids take for granted. Not Spanish, not Calculus, not even Pre-calc. That's because La Harpe's homes and farms generate little property tax revenue. And in America, that's how schools get a significant portion of their funding. "Flatlined: How Illinois Shortchanges Rural Students," starts in the La Harpe high school gym, where the Sweetheart Dance is in full swing.

Crockett Grabbe - Explosives Caused the World Trade Center to Collapse

From Abigail Mahnke, host of Inner Views | 25:27

Crockett has a PhD in Applied Physics from Caltech and was a research scientist at the University of Iowa for almost 30 years. In his professional opinion, the World Trade Center collapses were the result of pre-planted explosives, not from fires due to the plane attacks, as the official 9/11 Commission report states. He has written a book on the subject, National Swindle on the World Trade Center, detailing all the evidence for his assertions. Conspiracy theorist? Or credible scientist? You be the judge. His book is available at http://sealane.org.

In the book, Crockett closely analyzes time-lapse photos of the towers. He claims the behavior of the debris and the fires, as well as the tower collapses clearly indicate extraordinary force beyond the capability of fires (or gravity) to bring the towers down. He believes the 9/11 Commission did not make use of the all the evidence available, such as molten steel, which can only happen at temperatures above what fire can reach. While he doesn't know who would have planted explosives or why, he gives his theory as to how the explosives got there.
