Looking to shake things up or try some new programming ideas this summer? Maybe you’d like to offer your listeners a summer fling, or you’d like to give a show or a host a little time off this summer.

If so, here are a few ongoing programs and program series that will do more than fill time on your schedule this summer.

Starting July 1, be on the lookout for one of the smartest and entertaining music criticism shows – Sound Opinions.

See more ideas below. This list was compiled by PRX Music Curator David Srebnik.

Folk Alley (Series)

Produced by WKSU

Very few programs are this musically substantial and yet so accessible to a variety of different musical tastes. If there's a down side to Folk Alley, it's this: the show's aesthetic or experience makes "making radio" sound so easy and misleads some to think that "anyone can do it." That's the indicator a lot of work, time and thought have gone into this program. And....it shows.
