Review of Outsource This!

This commentary is really fast-moving. It almost sounds like it's sped up. But the speaker is clear enough.

This puts together a nice, brief overview of outsourcing that entertains as it feeds its opinion. I'm sure there are other perspectives on the comparative value of outsourcing - particularly from employers and their employed - but the skeptical take this puts forth is nicely built and comes to a funny, if sad, conclusion.

This would be a nice little piece to add to a show about outsourcing, particularly if stuck in between a reported piece and an interview.

Review of Outsource This!

Loved this for it's content and delivery, would make for a great weekly feature. Reminds me of 'Dr. Science' with a social bent. The rapid fire pacing would make for a great contrast against some of the more meditative content normally associated with Public Radio. Off to listen to more pieces.

Review of Outsource This!

I found the speaker soooooo incredibly fast that I had to listen 3 times to grasp what was being said, and I felt all breathless and anxious at the end of it. If you?re a jobless conservative? There are no jobless conservatives. They have all found gainful employment hosting cable talk shows, where they can scream about how rude liberals are.

The conservative pro-outsourcing argument goes: as companies downsize ? and there?s another verb combining two non-verbs - they get leaner, and more efficient. Jobs lost, conservatives say, are jobs that are obsolete anyway, like blacksmiths, singing cowboys, and dotcom comsultants. Which is a noble and lofty view to take, unless, again, you?re the one who?s been downsized.

Oursourcing is another way companies are making themselves more efficient. Send jobs overseas to Indi...
