Brenda Russell along with Allee Willis & Stephen Bray make up the team that composed the music & lyrics for this new production from the Alice Walker novel & the Time Warner motion picture. The interview portions of this She Grooves show touches upon Brendas favorite Color Purple selections as well as glimpses into her career highlights, including writing lyrics for Sting, singing backup for Elton John, and collaborating with Stevie Wonder. Featured songs off of Brenda's Ultimate cd include "Get Here", "So Good -So Right", "Piano in the Dark" & newer releases like "Between The Sun and The Moon" (2004). A music industry based question leaves Brenda offering up how youngsters should be more exposed to various music.
