Rina Laxmi Shah spent the past few years as a senior aide to two Republican Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. A native of southern West Virginia, her background includes work as a field reporter for television and as a freelance writer. Shah is now the Principal and Founder of Rilax Strategies - a political communications consulting and strategy practice.
Since completing studies at West Virginia University and George Washington University, she has advised on a wide range of political races - ranging from local school board to Presidential campaigns. In late 2011, she was featured in The Washington Post and Marie Claire magazine for her work. She currently serves as spokeswoman for the Republican Indian Committee - a Political Action Committee and delivers political commentary as a weekly guest on a Florida-based radio show.
In her spare time, she enjoys serving on the Tigerlily [Breast Cancer] Foundation’s Board of Directors, and also participating in the various activities of the national non-partisan, non-profit organization known as South Asian American Leading Together (SAALT).
Shah resides on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
