By the time fiction writer Daniel Woodrell's novel WOE TO LIVE ON was adapted to become the 1998 movie RIDE WITH THE DEVIL, he had published five other novels. In 2010, four years after its publication, his novel WINTER'S BONE became another acclaimed film.
