WE MAY BE ARCHED, WE MAY BE SCANT... Read the full description.

Br_logo_small We may be arched, we may be scant
Our voice is seen not heard
Surprise, dismay, or scathing wrath
We speak without a word.

This is a riddle about eyebrows .  (Yup, my eyebrows just made those two, quick jumps up my forehead.)   Arched, scant, bushy, severe.   Eyebrows are expressive, and they can emphasize what is said, or reveal what is unsaid.  Now the adjectives in this riddle could refer to any number of things.   It's the metaphor of the seen, not heard, voice that makes this riddle guessable.   One clever player thought it might be about our individual handwriting.   Scant, arched, scathing wrath.   Sure enough!  I'd never noticed how much handwriting and eyebrows have in common.

NEW RIDDLE:
A choir of eighty-eight
Lyrics we've none.
