In this hour of The Blues & Beyond, it's the real McCoy, or actually several of them. Bonnie McCoy has a new album out called "A Child Of The Blues," the debut from a blues singer who is a grand niece of the great Memphis Minnie. Bonnie's father George McCoy and his sister Ethel McCoy recorded blues in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. Their uncles were famed pre-war blues artists Joe McCoy and Charlie McCoy. Joe was married for a while to Memphis Minnie, and was known as Kansas Joe on the classic records the couple recorded together from 1929 well into the 1930s. We'll hear from them, as well as Charlie McCoy, George and Ethel McCoy, and, of course, from Bonnie McCoy's debut in this show. Also, music from another McCoy, totally unrelated, pianist McCoy Tyner, and from his former band leader John Coltrane in 1966, whose "Live At The Village Vanguard Again!" album from 1996 has just been re-re-issued by Impulse!
